Unitas in Vienna

The mailed copy of this issue should have reached members just before the Unitas meeting. The triennial meetings of Unitas form milestones in the progress of malacology, reviewing present knowledge in order to decide future directions. The Society's meetings and this Bulletin also serve as a forum for airing emerging issues, and I would be pleased to hear members' views. I thank everyone who has contributed articles, information and illustrations. Please send items for the next Bulletin (Number 38, February 2002) to reach me by mid-January. Please keep articles simple and succinct, avoiding or explaining specialist terms. Where appropriate, include a reference to a more detailed account, and an illustration. Remember that the Web version uses colour illustrations. As well as articles, I rely on you for information on meetings, new publications, "snippets" of news etc.
