Council will soon be considering possible changes in the Rules of the Society to take the Society forward into the next millenium. The existing Rules were adopted in 1978 and it is thought timely to be looking at them again. Several queries have been raised:

1. Should the objectives of the Society be expanded?

2. Do we have too many Vice-Presidents?

If you have any suggestions or comments on the Rules please send them as soon as possible to Dr Alan Bebbington, Brookfield 31 South Street, Uley, Dursley, Glos GL11 5SP. They can then be taken into consideration at the Council Meeting.

Members will have a chance to comment on any possible changes to the Rules at a Special General Meeting which would have to be called if any changes are proposed. No changes can be made that would have the effect of causing the Society to cease to be a Charity in Law.

Alan Bebbington
